How do you do, whoever you are. My name is Stepan Chapman. I have two books currently available from Amazon: a novel called The Troika and a short story collection called Dossier.

Are there any questions so far?

Admiral Squid:

You'll note Troika is on this list I've been asked to give to an online mag:

Dear Mr. Stepan,

I myself read this here Troika a couple of weeks ago, finally (I bought it right after I read the review in Locus). Thought it was great. Brilliant. Fun. Innovative. Thanks for writing it.

I read TROIKA before it was even published. Jeff VdM sent me a proof copy. And I even managed to review it before it was published -- which isn't something I've managed to do very often!

The novel is a masterpiece. It's as good as the best work of John Sladek (one of my all time favourite writers).

Anyway, just thought I'd say that!

Bye all!

Thank you, thank you. I like The Troika rather well myself. Before long, however, I must return to work on my second novel, Burger Creature, which is stranded between two chapters in part two. Right now I'm at work on various shorter projects.

I've got to get me a copy of THE TROIKA! It seemed intriguing when I first heard about it, and somehow I just never managed to get a copy.

This must be remedied! :-)

Best of luck, Vera. It's a rare beast now. And you can have my (signed) copy only when you pry it from my cold, dead hands. And I'm not giving up without a brutal fight. :-)

Stepan,

I've been hearing about this novel from Jeff for some time, but I can't seem to locate a copy. Amazon is apparently out of stock. Is it possible to buy a copy directly from you, if you have extra copies lying about?

Thanks.

How do you do, Dr. Ballingrud. I recognize your name as that of a fellow collaborator on The Thackery T. Lambshead Pocket Guide To Obscure & Discredited Diseases.

The Beast Called The Troika is out of print, sadly. Sometimes used copies are available through Amazon or from Powell's Books of Oregon or from other used book venders. I'd send you a copy, but at this point I own precious few myself.

Stepan!
Good to see you are still at it.
I recall Dr. Lao, Flint, Michigan winter 77
They were publishing Burger Creature in German
There was a clown, a gypsy, a small boy, and a woman of mystery. We had to convince the mailman to deliver
much snow
