Hello, I have only just joined this website so please be gentle !
In the early 70's I remembered seeing a movie on TV that terrified the bezeebies out of me. I am sure because I was only a little girl, and because I shouldn't have been watching, that made it even more terrifying.
Ok, it's Judgement Day, and the U.S. president is announcing that those who have lead a good Christian life were to be taken up into heaven, and those who are left are obviously going to you know where !
So while the press conference is going on you see people disappearing one by one.
(My brother came in to the room at this stage, and was told what was happening, and he started screaming that we were all still there.) For some reason I think Glen Ford was the president ?
I know, it's sounds so pathetic now, but it has bugged me for years. Did I make this up, or was it a movie/tv program ?
Have done searches, and searches, with Glen Ford, without Glen Ford.
Thanks in advance

It sounds like a Judgment Day version of Welles' War of the Worlds broadcast.

The Glenn Ford movie doesn't appear to match either the theme or the time frame in question, although he portrays the President in the 1980 film. Harmony, is it possible your memories of two different films have converged in this case?
There was a widely seen film called "A Thief in the Night" from 1972 that scared the impressionable with its Rapture theme... Might this be the one you are trying to remember?
