In early June, the Federal Communications Commission is scheduled to vote on a proposal which would allow a single owner to control ALL media within a given market. There has been an attempt by the justly concerned to delay the vote to allow for extended discussion of this incredibly dangerous legislation. If you have the time please communicate with your senators and reps letting them know your feelings about this potentially catastrophic compromise of the use of the public airwaves, an abridgement of freedom of speech that will permit a curtain of rancid fog to descend on a nation where a free flow of information and the possibility of dissent are the essential foundations of democracy.Act now!

It is not a bill. It is a rule change at the FCC. The Democrats oppose this rule change, Republicans appear to be all for it.

See:

And this *is* monstrous.

The FCC, as expected, voted for this though because of last minute outcry there is some speculation that congress might not approve the ruling which they have the right to do. Please don't hesitate to let your reps know your feelings about this ripoff.
