Looks like we're going to get hit with spam from time to time. Jason, I'll take the hit this time and try to clean it all up since I've got a free moment.

Folks, just be patient and it'll be cleaned up. Just make take awhile. If you have admin privileges, I'll assume you're going to delete it yourselves.

This time my Night Shade threads missed out (after a huge onslaught on them last time). But there was one for me on a TTA thread last night.
I'm rather bemused by these 'online casino' spams. I don't understand their purpose or how they are done. I suspect these are spams from someone who attends these threads regularly and *not* a random spammer.

Yeah, there wasn't much this time. I think I got it all.

Ellen--I can't figure out the logic behind it. If they do some kind of google search and then attack all links from that, or what?

Perhaps they spin a roulette wheel and see where the spam-ball falls?

No, I think someone gets paid for every hit they can attract and thus they put them any and everywhere, just on the offchance that someone clicks on them. I don't think there is any thought behind it. Just like those "enlargement" e-mails we all get . . . um . . . . dont we (?)

What is an exact definition of "spam?" How can it be distinguished out of the general run of things---what are some of its identifying features?
