Is there some way we can identify the pseudonymous troll, "Bandwidth Eater?"

This guy has wished death on my wife and myself, while elsewhere, in an ASIMOV'S forum, he exulted over the rumor that Gardner Dozois had fallen into a coma.

It would be nice to put a name to the sociopathy.

Hi A-T,

The writer who signs himself TCO applied the name 'Bromley' to the troll over in the Asimov's general discussion group [Gardner in a Coma thread] two days ago. I've asked him if he can blow BE's anonymity.

I gather the troll is too stupid to know that the server from which his postings originate can be identified.

Cheers,

Bruce

Jon Bromley posted a few times at Asimov's but none of us know if that is the same one. We've had a serious infection of trolls. The Bandwidth Eater even hit my blog a few times (called me "Liberal" go figure) before he/she/it learned that I control the comment delete key at Murphy Ponders. . .

So, I'm not sure who it is. He/she/it keeps changing their IPO address (I think I blocked four or five different ones).

Respects,
S. F. Murphy

Here's the IP address I've showed for him:

172.136.8.223
172.144.36.117

Don't know if anyone knows what to do with that.

There once was a bandwidth eater
Who sat on our poor little feet. Er...
He's naught but a troll,
Not the least bit droll.
Let's feed him to a big 'skeeter?

Yep, same ones I've blocked from my blog.

My blog has a block user function.

But it also has the old "delete comment" standby. Which I don't normally like to use, but I've made exceptions to people like Turdwidth Eater.

I have foresworn comment, but my wife, bless her, has two words.

"Start Running."

I like your wife's style. Good hunting.
