The San Veneficio Canon includes both Cisco's award-winning Divinity Student, but its sequel, The Golem. It will be published in February-March by Ministry of Whimsy, with a cover design and art by John Coulthart.

Michael Cisco's The San Veneficio Canon, which includes the International Horror Guild Award-winning short novel "The Divinity Student" and its sequel, is moving from Ministry of Whimsy/Night Shade Books to Prime Books. SVC was originally a Prime project when Ministry of Whimsy functioned as an imprint of Prime. For a number of reasons, including obligations to Prime, the project is being moved back to Prime with the blessing of all involved parties. The trade hardcover will have a release date of April 15, 2004. The author and new publisher both appreciate the patience of readers and reviewers over this new development.

"[The San Veneficio Canon] is unusual and disturbing…more remarkable than curious, the first signpost pointing the way toward what would surely be an astonishing career." - Lucius Shepard

I will remain the editor of the book. If you have any questions, please email me. Please contact Sean Wallace at Prime Books with any publisher questions: prime@prime-books.com.

Thanks!

What does this mean for those of us who pre-ordered it through Nightshade? Will we need to re-order it?

Yes, you will need to reorder it. Thanks very much for your patience. The book is definitely coming out from Prime in April.
