Just a note to say that the fifteenth Elastic Press publication, "The English Soil Society" by Tim Nickels, will be launched on Saturday 29th October 2005 from 2pm at the Citte of York pub, 22 High Holborn, London (nearest tube stations being Charing Cross or Holborn). Everyone is welcome and in keeping with previous Elastic launches there will be an unusual slant to the event. . .at 3pm sharp, myself, Tim Nickels, and Allen Ashley will entertain you in song to celebrate our British Fantasy Society awards, and also (connecting with the theme of the book) we'd like you to bring something from your garden for our 'Nature Table'. Soil, leaves, conkers, the choice is yours so long as the items are small, surreptitious, and ultimately disposable. Anyone who brings an item will have their name entered in a draw for a free copy of the book, so have a bit of fun and join in with us in celebrating the launch of this title. But please, no animals (either dead or alive!)
Tim has also promised to give a reading at the event. So don't disappoint him - let's get a large crowd together and give this book the send off that it deserves!
For those of you in the States, this book can be ordered through Shocklines.

Our first launch of 2006 will take place on Saturday 28th January from 2pm at the Taurus bar, 1 Canal Street, Manchester to celebrate the publication of The Last Days of Johnny North by David Swann. The event will include readings by several Northern actors including Julie Hesmondhalgh, Joseph Alessi, and others to be confirmed. A minimum £2 donation on the door will go to the Maundy Relief Homeless Charity. What better way than to kick off 2006 with this event?

Just getting ready to catch my flight to Glasgow for EasterCon. I'll be manning the dealer's table from today until Sunday night, and will be participating in a panel about publishing from 10-11am on Sunday morning.
This evening, in the mezzanine area of the con hotel from 6-7pm, we'll be launching Neil Williamson's collection, The Ephemera. Neil will be reading from the collection and signing books afterwards. This will be a joint signing together with a Pendragon Press title. Hope to see some of you there...
Pre-ordered copies of this title (paperback and hardback) will be mailed during the last week of April. Just drool over that gorgeous cover!

In a few weeks time we’ll be holding the launch of Jai Clare’s collection of stories, “The Cusp of Something”, and we’d love you to be able to attend. The event takes place on Sunday 4th November from 2pm until 4pm approx at the delightfully named Filthy McNasty’s Whiskey Café, 68 Amwell Street, London EC1. Jai will be reading from her collection, and entrance is – of course – FREE. The book will be available at £5.00 on the day, or you can order through the website at £5.99 plus p&p. The more the merrier, please come along and support us at the first London launch since “Extended Play” last year. For more info on the pub, look here: http://www.filthymacnastys.com/
