OK, since everyone else is posting their schedules for the impending WorldCon, here is mine:

Take 1:
Friday: drive up to Northampton, MA
Saturday: pick up issue #7 in Northampton, drive to Boston
Sunday: drive back to NJ

Take 2:
Saturday: drive to Boston by way of Northampton to pick up issue #7
Sunday: drive back to NJ

Exciting, eh? So, I'll be around Saturday and that's it. What bar can I expect people to be at?

And Minz, where can I meet you so you get your issue first?

I'll keep an eye out for you on Saturday, John. Would definitely like to meet before the Hugos.

Hope to see you there, too Steve.

I haven't done a lot of research about this convention yet, but it looks like I will be in the Sheraton bar. Is this the main hotel? I'll wander some, but without a badge, it will be tough to get anywhere. I would love to get into the dealer's room (especially if I could get some EVs out for sale at someone's table) so perhaps I can borrow a badge.

Hope to see everyone there. This next issue is shaping up very nicely!

OK, here's the official schedule for me:

Saturday Sept 4:
Drive to Northampton and pick up issue #7 of Electric Velocipede;
Call Minz and get him his copy of #7 before anyone else;
Hang out in the Sheraton bar most of the day (possibly borrowing a badge from someone to go into the dealer's room);
Sell single issues and subscriptions to unsuspecting con-goers;
Spend time at Jay Caselberg's book launch instead of going to the Hugos (details pending);
Drive back to hotel in Marlborough.

Sunday Sept 5:
Return to convention area, possible for breakfast with people;
Hang out in Sheraton bar most of the day;
Sell single issues and subscriptions to unsuspecting con-goers;
Drive back to hotel in Marlborough.

Monday Sept 6
Get up early and grab complimentary breakfast;
Drive back to NJ.

Got to meet a bunch of great new people at this con: Chris Roberson (and family!), Lou Anders, Ellen Klages, Steve Nagy, Mike Lewis, Dora Goss (at least this was the first 'official' meeting), Daniel Abraham, The Karen, Lawrence Watt-Evans, the guys who Kelly Link introduced me to (and whose names I promptly forget thanks to Caselberg & Gilman et al), and anyone else who was left out of this list.

And wonderful to see all the old acquaintances who were there: Jeff and Ann VanderMeer, Minz, Sondi, Craig Engler, Ellen Datlow, John Picacio, Gavin Grant, Kelly Link, Steve Sawicki, Barbara Chepaitis, John Joseph Adams, Rick Bowes, Gordon van Gelder, Steve Pagel, Jay Lake, Deborah Layne, Jay Caselberg, Liz Wiliams, Farah Mendelsohn, Laura Ann Gilman, PNH, TNH, Jim Frenkel, Cory Doctorow, Brian Bienmkowski, Trevor Quarchi, Shelia Williams, Robert Swayer, Vanessa Felice, Ian Randall Strock, Shane Tourtellotte, and anyone else whom I've forgotten.

And to Mr. Jeff Ford, sorry I missed you. I tried to be in the bar as much as I could, but I don't know if you were there on Sat & Sun when I was there.

Off to my crazy season of grad school and full-time work. I'll be here sporadically.

And of course, because I'm a jack ass, I forgot Alex Irvine. sigh

Sorry Alex. Wish we had gotten a chance to talk about your book.

John: I had your book in Boston and was looking all over for you and inquiring as to your whereabouts, but saw neither hide nor hair of you. OK, it goes in the mail. Sorry I missed you. The thing was so huge, I'm surprised I ran into anyone.

I didn't arrive until some time in the afternoon on Saturday. I was in and out of the bar area from then until after midnight on Sunday. Minz told me that you were there with my book. Sorry that we didn't run into each other. As it was, everyone I saw I talked to for less than four minutes. (he also mentioned you were muttering something about having to use a flashlight to find the book...?)

John: Yeah, actually Minz is right. The electricity in my office blew out the night before I left and I was leaving at like four in the morning. I was determined to bring the damn book, though, so I grabbed a flash light and waded in. Found it, though, and you should have it soon barring any unforseen circumstance. Sorry I missed you in boston, but I know the four minute thing too.

And of course, I forgot to mention Jim Kelly, and also Jonathan Strahan, whom I met for the first time.

This was a great con for meeting people. I also did very well for selling the zine in one evening of having copies of the new issue available. Wish I had been there the whole time.

Sorry to have missed you in Boston, John. I was holed up in my room Saturday working remotely on day job stuff, and then I had to leave a day early because the job called me back to work on Labor Day. Kinda blew the weekend to hell.

Sorry I missed you, too Mr. Shunn. Shai was hoping to see you, too. We were wondering if Laura was there, but were informed that she was dog-sitting. Too bad work doesn't understand how important these things are, eh?

Maybe we'll see you in Glasgow...oh wait, you live not that far from us in NY...we'd have to cross some rivers and bridges.... Maybe we'll see you in Glasgow?

Just kidding. We'll have to get together soon. Get that Mr. Smith kid out of Brooklyn, too. Maybe that Minz guy will have a East Coast writers/editors/publishers (zines that is!) gathering in his new shed.

Once we put a roof on it.

Klima. I didn't miss you. Either of you. Pink drinks rule!

A remote hi to all those I crossed paths with in Boston.

All I know is that on Sunday at some point I decided to keep circulating the room so you couldn't find me with any more tequila or rum or whatever your brain came up with next.

I'm sure we'll manage to meet up soon. Going to KGB tonight?
