Yep, that's right. Issue #6. Most of you are still crunching through #5 at this point, and I've moved into the future. This thread will have pertinent info about issue #6 as it comes to light. This here is a rough cover. Enjoy.

Well, that's smaller than the one that I first posted. Please note, this is not the final cover, but the people listed on it will be in the issue.

Better. Now I can see it without scrolling all over the screen in different directions :-)
It looks good.

Holy crap, you've got some great people in there. Edd Vick's another one of my Clarion classmates, so it's nice to see the 2002 class invasion of your zine continue. :-)

Classy. Perhaps the contributor names might be just a bit smaller, though? Just a thought.

We'll see if I get the rose shade to come out when I print it (still operating on black 'n' white as far as I know...but maybe I'll be able to do color covers). As for the size of the names, well, they're why you're buying the zine, right? The image is larger than the actual cover will be. We'll see how the final image looks once I get the contents set as I'm still looking for some poetry to fill out the issue.

Hi John,

I e-mailed you and it bounced. So....It bounced.

I just got back from the US and am tired and have not read the proof sheets yet but will shortly. How shall I express myself?

Sorry I missed your message Brendan, however, I got your e-mail whether it was the original or a re-send I do not know. Glad that everything came through well.

Line-up is great and thanks for the nice comments on it RFW and Jay! Future issues would look nice with some Wexler or Caselberg in them.

Only a few days from sending this to the printer. Getting ads finalized, usw. This issue looks great, I can't wait to see final copies next month!

Subscribe or renew now to get the $10 subscription rate. Prices will go up once the next issue comes out! Four-issue subs will be $15 and single issue prices go up to $4.

Thanks for the support!

For people who are confused about the whole Formidolosus thing (since it started in issue #1 and then was missing until issue #5) I've decided to put the whole thing online (with the author's permission). Plus, this gives you a sneak peek at the story in issue #6...

Enjoy!

Well, issue #6 has been mailed to printer and I'll be picking up copies in a few weeks. I have nothing to do in the production of these issues. The printer is printing, collating, folding, stapling, and trimming the issues. It should be my most professional-looking issue to date. So, people have less than two weeks to subscribe at the old rates. As soon as I have the new issue in hand, the rates will go up from $10/4 issues to $15/4 issues (prices higher outside the U.S.). I can't believe it's time for another issue to come out. I mean, I've been ready for this issue for some time (I'm already editing the next issue and reading subs for next year) but wow, all of a sudden it's getting made. Very cool. This has always been a lot of work on my part since I've always done the physical construction of the issues myself, but not this time. I'll let you know what I think.

It's nice having the printer handle those duties. I used to publish fanzines, where I did everything myself. Now I just publish comic books...

Just spoke with Paradise Copies in Northampton MA, and issue #6 is all done and ready for me to pick up. I'll be going up this next weekend (which means issues hit the mail some time after the 19th) to pick them up. Very excited about this. I was really calling to make sure that my stuff arrived at the store, and they informed me that they were all done. I'll have to time my mailing with my trip a little better next time so they don't have to have zines cluttering up their office. Not that I have any concept of what sort of space their location has or anything. Time to get working on issue #7 and beyond. I'll have to push people at Worldcon this year to consider me for a Hugo nomination for next year (Glasgow). What would put me on the right side of all you good Scottish and neighboring lands people? I'm open to suggestions.

I have copies. In fact, I have copies sitting next to me (only a handful, not all of them). They look great. They look professional. Very impressed with the whole process. I can't say enough good things about Paradise Copies in Northampton Mass. Good people with cheap prices. I'm going to have to spend some time in Northampton the next time I head up there; it looks like a good time. I only had time to stop and pick up the issue and then off to other places.

Copies will be in the mail shortly. If you're in NY and want you copy peronsally delivered, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Most everyone should have or be getting their copies of issue #6 soon. I ran out of envelopes over the weekend (guilty face) so there are a few of you whose issues went out later than the rest. If you don't have your issue by the end of next week, please let me know so that I can send a replacement.

Thanks!

Mine came yesterday. Looks great! I read a cool story by some guy named DeNiro. Did Mike Siminoff move to Atlanta? When did that happen? I haven't heard from him in a long time (obviously).

Hi, John.

I contacted Ariel at the www.thealienonline.net to see if he'd like one of my copies of EV #6 to review, but he said he only accepts magazines from publishers.

If you wanted to contact him I could send on one of my copies along to save you on the postage to the UK.

Also, let me know if you've sent one to The Fix, if not I'll pop one in the post for them as well.

Neil:

Thanks for letting me know about Alien Online. I know I've sent copies to The Fix before, but I can't remember about this issue. Don't worry about sending your contrib copies to review places, that's my responibility, and I'll send out copies myself.

Thanks again!
