Jay, I confess I was thinking the same.

"When's Roberts gonna show up here," I thought.

Well, he's here now. Wonder if he's brought the monkeys?

Hey Jay! Hey Neil! Good to (virtually) see both of you here, especially as I've taken rainchecks on the most recent rendevous with each of you. Next time! And definitely Eastercon, if not before.

What was that, Neil? Muhn...Monkeys? OH NO! WHERE ARE THE MONKEYS?

Where are the monkeys, Mark? That's a very good question.

Why don't you tell me where you *think* they are?

Neil: I *think* they're in my head. But then...sometimes I think they are in the jungle. Perhaps my head is in the jungle?

And logically, Mark, then the jungle is also in your head.

Very good. We are making progress on this whole monkey thing at last.

Neil - progress is certainly being made on the monkey thing!!!! First scene is in head, but NOT in the jungle. Everyone else...watch out, Shark-Monkey is about!

Jesus, everyone I know is in here.

Mark, I have one thing to say to you, young man: beware the fist. You know what I'm talking about. You think it's all safe and quiet - and then there They are, all beards and knitted sweaters and sinister jolliness...

Off to bolt the doors,

Liz W

Beware the fist? You mean they've even reached here?

Mine arrived in the post a few weeks back: in a little padded envelope... Creepy.

You were lucky. Mine was nailed to the front door.

And last night I heard distant singing outside the house...

My fist arrived the same as Keith's fist. I completely forgot to mention it last Wednesday! A very fine gift indeed from a very fine man. I must say, though, that when utilised as a keyring, it does produce the most suspicious of bulges in the pocket...

Neil - be not afraid. He nice monkey. Sure, he LOOKS scary, but then...so do a lot of us.

Yeah, NOT in the jungle. In a cargo plane over the Atlantic...

Liz - doors are no defence against the Fist. I've seen their agents unravel; first the sweaters go, then the beards, then their very flesh. Now threadlike, they squirm through the cracks and re-form in quartets, politely asking if you'll 'keep it down when the lads are singing, thanks boys'...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaghhh!!! Nooooooo!

I'm never going north of Watford again. Except Hinckley, and then at least there'll be enough people to form a solid phalanx.

By the way, is that a monkey's fist in your pocket, or are you just pleased to see me? (Damn, I always wanted to use that line! )

LOL! Absolutely. Yes, indeed, it sure is!

Which reminds me: about 2.30am last night, curled up against on-going insomnia, a way for Shark-Monkey and Archie to get out of an ungetoutable occurred to me...BUT we don't want to give away anything here, do we?!? :-)

Excellent! Holding page for website will be up soon, too. I know what the logo looks like... Oh, and I'm wondering about a Flash treatment of the first 'episode', too...

But anyway. We've teased people enough. More news on Shark-Monkey later!

Snicker...

Shall look forward to your revelations. I'm assuming they don't involve an indifferent sea-shanty band from East Yorks.

cheers

*Yes, they are a real folk band, for anyone who hasn't had the misfortune to be trapped in a pub with them. I like quite a lot of folk, but Monkey's Fist R Not Us.
