Wheatland Press publisher Deborah Layne announced a new project on Tuesday, 4/15.

GREETINGS FROM LAKE WU, a collection of Jay Lake short stories and Frank Wu art, will be released on August 28th at WorldCon. LAKE WU includes a mix of thirteen published and new stories by Jay, including one written specifically to literate Frank's homage to James Tiptree, Jr., "Love is the Plan, the Plan is Death."

Introductions are provided by Andy Duncan (stories) and Lori Ann White (art). Some art from LAKE WU will be exhibited at Norwescon.

Watch this space for more details.

Me too, Jay. I'll look out for it.

Sorry I won't be making Norwescon this year - sticking to home ground for cons this Easter. But next year, maybe? I am still wearing my mouse-skull earring from last year's bash.

Hey, this is going to be a cool collection. Can't wait to get a copy -- every short story antho should have illustrations!

Jay -- is there anyone you DON'T know?

Thanks, guys. I'm thrilled. Just thrilled. And the pictures are beautiful. Galleys should be out in early May. Right now we're looking at a signed, limited run with color plates, plus an open POD run with gray plates. I can't wait.

Oh - say hi to Frank for me. Everytime I think of him, I see him with a giant image of Julie Czernada held in front of his face as in last year's PKD awards. But tell him I do remember what he looks like, honest.

Will do, Liz. He was just here at my house on his way to Seattle. We had lunch at Good Dog/Bad Dog, the world's premier hot dog stand.

I'll see him again tomorrow afternoon.

Consider me a delayed pre-orderer. I'd rather get a copy from the Lake himself at World Fantasy.

Thanks, Robert.

I have the feeling there's a joke here about fishing something out of a lake, but that's Jay Territory and he's at WorldCon...

See you in DC, huh?

Yeah, we'll leave the jokes to Jay. And the Hawaiian shirts. See you there then.

Hey John! Good to see you at Torcon3.

Funny you should mention tattoos. Just wait until World Fantasy. You will be amazed...

And remember, "Next year at MonkeyCon!"
