I've just had the welcome news that a Realms of Fantasy short story of mine, MORTEGARDE, will be published in the Year's Best Fantasy collection via David Hartwell. Another short story, from Asimov's, has been taken for the companion SF volume. I'm in good company, too, judging from what I've seen of the TOC.

The next novel, DARKLAND, is scheduled for mid-February release. I'll be doing some advance publicity in Forbidden Planet in London and at the monthly Borders session. In addition, the paperback edition of BANNER OF SOULS is also scheduled for a February release and I have been invited to do a talk on SF and writing at an arts institute in Antwerp. Not sure yet whether I'll be able to commit to this, but I will keep the board posted.

Do you know when Darkland will make it to the US?

I don't, alas. Bantam did not pick this one up. We're looking at other options.

Antwerp! Belgian Beers! Belgian cuisine!

If it's in a weekend, I'll try to come over...

I have just had the good news that short story LA MALCONTENTA has been chosen for Gardner's latest Year's Best.

Needless to say, I am extremely pleased (and now waiting nervously for the sandbag to swing the other way...)
