A big 'thank you' to LOCUS for placing BANNER OF SOULS on the novels list, and SKINDANCING on the short fiction.

Also, John Klima of ELECTRIC VELOCIPEDE has been kind enough to nominate me for
a Fountain award for the Speculative Literature Foundation.

Thank you, Jeremy! Much appreciated!

I thought I'd checked the list for BANQUET - must be going blind.....

A short story of mine, LOOSESTRIFE, which originally appeared in InterZone, has been selected for the Year's Best Science Fiction #10, ed. David Hartwell, published by Harper Eos. I am delighted to be included.

I've just been given the green light to announce the good news: I have a new 2 book deal with Tor Macmillan (UK) for the sequel to the forthcoming DARKLAND (the third book set in the GHOST SISTER universe) and a new novel which is currently under the title of The Oracle of the World, but which will probably be called THE VANISHED.

The sequel is half written already, but will be undergoing radical changes.

TV is scaring the hell out of me, because it's a more ambitious book than I've attempted so far. But that's a good thing.

To celebrate, I've just made miso soup and will be going to writing group. We know how to party here, dudes!

Story sale to Asimov's, a short story titled THE AGE OF ICE. It's set in the same Mars as BANNER, but in a much earlier time.

Broadsheet, a magazine for women in genre, celebrates a British Worldcon by having a British-themed issue (not exclusively, however, as you will note some of the US based usual suspects!).

Guest edited by myself and Chimeric's Claire Weaver:
