WIthout F&SF, the name of the current Chinese moon mission would not have had any connotation for me. What was the issue with the story about escaping from Chang'e on the moon?

I don't recognize that story. Do you remember when it ran?

Oops. I've been an F&SF subscriber since 1999 but this one was in that other magazine. I did search years of F&SF hunting for it. Lots of good stories and more I haven't read yet. Lots of dust. Lotta dust in this story, too.

Waking Chang-er by Samantha Ling. Asimov's July 2005.

Ah. Thanks for the explanation. I had thought at one point that you meant Terry Bisson's "Planet of Mystery," which has a character named Chang---but that one obviously wasn't set on the Moon.
