Hi all, I'm new here so I'll go ahead and apologize in advance if this question has been asked and answered a thousand times. I'll also apologize in advance if the answer is in the Writer's Guidelines and I have managed to completely overlook it.

Mea culpa, mea culpa.

I was wondering if F&SF had any specific policy about “flash fiction” (loosely fiction from about 1,000-2,000 words) or if acceptance was based entirely on the merits of the piece in question. I've noticed that many publishers have a “no flash” policy and I haven't been able to find anything about it on your website. Thanks in advance for your answer.

We do buy flash stories...and there is one by a new writer in the upcoming September issue (by Kevin Haw).
