Have I just been lucky for the last two months, or has FSF finally decided to place its mailing labels on the back of the magazine? It has annoyed me for years that the cover art is defaced by the mailing labels, which, if you try to peel off, deface the art further. If this was a conscious decision, THANK YOU! If not, please continue making the same "mistake."

We've been putting the labels on the back cover whenever we don't have a paid ad on the back cover.

The September and Oct/Nov issues have paid ads on the back covers, so I'm afraid the labels will go back on the front for those two issues.

VISCO, the visual index of science fiction cover art. They've got thumbnail links to most F&SF covers from 1949 through 2005. After entering click on "Magazine Index" and then on "Click here to see short index".
