FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE...In order to avoid competing with the Sixth Edition of Harry Potter (tentatively entitled "Harry Potter and the Bald Phallus") Douglas Lain's short story collection Last Week's Apocalypse has been delayed. Originally scheduled to appear in July of 2005, Last Week's Apocalypse is now slated to arrive in early 2006.
"We're all big Harry Potter fans at Night Shade Books," Douglas Lain, the author of Apocalypse, explained. "And we thought it would be impolite to cut into Ms. Rowling's profits by putting out a similar book of our own at that time."
Intellectual and linguist Noam Chomsky had the following comment on the matter:
"All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume."
Ms. JK Rowling was unavailable for comment.
