I'm planning on writing a short story between 12/27 and the New Year. Anybody else Game? Want to compare stories at the end?

Word Range: 3000-7000 words.

No other conditions, but we trade stories after New Year's Eve and critique.

you're right. I suppose it's a bad idea to announce that you're cheating. My bad.

Hi Mr Lain.

(Insert obligatory "You don't know me but..." segment here)

I realise you're a busy guy, but is this a one-shot deal? I mean, is it inappropriate for anyone else to try and barge in to this?

I know it's hard enough writing without having to crit shedloads of other stuff, and that even critting one story is a lot of extra work, but I thought I'd just ask...

Take care.

Nels, please feel free to climb aboard. You see the rules.
(Oh shit, now I've got to produce an actual story next week.)

Anybody else? Last call.

With under 4 hours left I concede defeat. Only 4-5 thousand words written with at least 2 more to go and I'm going to a New Year's Eve Party. I'll finish the story over the weekend.

I'll need a few days after that to type in the story. I write by hand for first drafts.

But you can send your story to this email address:

Holy shit, they gave Doug Lain his own message board. Oh gawd, everyone, run! For all that's holy and good head for the hills now before Mr. Lain's fiction infects you as well!

Or, in other words, "Hey Doug. Up for coffee and smokes?"
