I wanted to formally welcome Doug to the Night Shade message boards. If anybody is not familiar with Doug's work, click over to the Strange Horizons web site and check out his stories:
"Identity Is a Construct" (and Other Sentences)" (http://www.strangehorizons.com/2002/20020114/identity.shtml"
and "Shopping at the End of the World" (http://www.strangehorizons.com/2003/20030922/shopping.shtml)
For those of you averse to reading stories online, be sure to check out his bibliography at (http://www.douglaslain.com/bibliography.html) and buy one of the many fine anthologies and magazines that have published his work. I may be biased, but I think his fiction is pretty damn spectacular.
Biased? Why would I be biased? Oh.. yeah... Night Shade will be publishing his collection LAST WEEK’S APOCALYPSE at a yet to be determined date in the future. Keep watching the skies!
And welcome aboard, Doug!

Looking forward to the collection, and I'm glad Doug's got his own board here!

Now I just need to figure out what to use the board for.

Use it as an annoying extension of your online journal!
Talk about writing stuff!
Do writing dares where writers you don't know write lots of stuff and then tell you about it, thus guilting you into writing more.
Use it to brag.
Use it as an annoying extension of your web site!
Not that your web site itself is annoying.

Nice to see you, Doug. Jason told me about the collection and I'd been meaning to congratulate you....

Thanks, Bob. How is Sheckley doing? Are you still working on that book?

Bob the Elder's doing well, or at least last I heard from him he was. He's in New York with his daughter. And yeah, we're still slowly compiling the thing. Right now it's down to grunt work, reformatting old scripts and getting them to gracious people, that sort of thing. Thanks for asking.
