Just thought I'd pop over and check out your board. I greatly admire your work and your professionalism. I'm looking forward to reading Wyrmhole, and trying to walk in your footsteps, my friend.

Yes--after witnessing your excellent performance doing a reading for the fake disease guide antho, I not only want to read Wyrmhole, I want to hear you read it.

Gord, good to see you here, and thanks for the kind words. Welcome any time, buddy.
And Jeff, absolutely. The time will come. I may have the opportunity at Torcon, but it will certainly come in the not too distant.

Yo, Evil Brother James! Or should I say Your Eminence?
Where am I anyway? What is this board? Night Shade Books is what....

Well Vera, hi!
Night Shade Books is an independent press, putting out very fine titles in the dark and fantastic fields of literature. Including, I should note, the very fine DISEASE GUIDE edited by Jeff VanderMeer and Mark Roberts coming out soon.
And, of course, I will answer to EBJ or Your Eminence at any time, as you know.

Awwright! Now that I've cruised around the topics, it rang some bells here, and I remembered the association of Night Shade with the Ministry of Whimsy. Duuh, me!
This seems indeed like a very interesting neighborhood. Thanks for bringing me here, EBJ! ;-)

Hi James. It's nice to see you've set up house here. Looks like you need a bit of furniture though, maybe a hanging plant or two.

Ohhh, nice. Thanks, Jim. Can we put it over there? Who shall we hang from it?

If you see Minz, buy him a drink for me. And make sure that he brings home all sorts of goodies for all of us, OK?
BTW, this is an awful nice place here. How are things with you? Haven't seen an update in a few weeks.

John, I'm here, just buried in copyedit and interviews and writing at the moment, plus a lot going on over here right now with the LIBF.
News posted today!

My commiseration. I know what copyedits can be like. Hope yours was one of the good ones and not one of those where the copyeditor decides to rename characters and rewrite dialog, etc. etc. I always thought this was just a fear of writers until I actually saw one. Makes me shudder to this day (although it could be that I'm sitting in my basement...)

Actually, it ain't too bad. A couple of philosophical differences on style, but not too big. Still, something that has to get done.
