Hello, Matt. I am wondering, is Template the old title for Majestrum or are they different books? If so, when is Template coming out in the US, and in what formats? Thanks in advance.

No, Template is a stand-alone novel. It is more science fictiony than science fantasy, but part of it is set on Old Earth in the Archonate period.

It will be published in June by PS Publishing of the UK, first in hardcover and later in trade paperback. It should be available in the US, though I don't know the distribution arrangements. It will certainly be purchasable on-line through Amazon and other retailers.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing that up. Now I know what I will be reading next summer.

Clarkesworld Books is usually a good place to get PS Publishing titles. Google them; they're an online only bookstore, and a pretty good one too.

After a number of unavoidable delays Template will soon be released by PS Publishing, in two limited-edition hardcover versions. Here's the catalogue listing

I consider it my best work. I will send an rtf of the book to anyone who reviews, blogs, posts on discussion boards (like this one), puts out a newsletter or just talks about books a lot. Send me an email at himself(put you-know-what in here) archonate.com with "Free Read" in the subject line.

James Nicoll kindly organized a review-a-thon, which John Joseph Adams helped promote. Here are links to some of the reviews:

Hellow Matthew,
I just finished TEMPLATE. I really enjoyed it. A nice addition to the Archonate World. I didn't GET IT until you wanted the reader to get it.
I'd also like to say that PS Publishing REALLY makes very nice books. Nice to hold and look at.
Please keep the books and short stories coming.

Template was very good. I remember wanting to buy it when it was 2 USD = 1 GBP and holding off thinking the exchange rate would drop and boy did it. Since I purchased it, the exchange rate has dropped even further making the book an even better bargain considering the outstanding quality of writing.

Loved the Hengis Hapthorn books, The Gist Hunter stories, and Template (as well as earlier Archonate fare). Fans don't really have a right to ask a writer to write for them, but if I had my druthers, I like the space opera format of Template the best. It reminded me of my favorite Vance books, the Demon Princes series.
