First review is in, from Nick Gevers, at Locus, and its pretty positive...

"...with his opulent style, Latinate wit, and quick-fire philosophizing, Hughes genuinely captures the splendid ironic textures of Vance's writing."

Any other Gist hunter reviews spotted?

Hi,

I would like to know when the book will be published as I am going to place an order on Amazon.com and they state "Publisher: Night Shade Books (August 1, 2005)".

Is there an estimate as to the new date of publication?

Thank You

Release was delayed a couple of weeks while Night Shade settles into a relationship with a new distributor.

No link, but the Booklist (American Library Association) review says I'm "heir apparent to Jack Vance" and "one of sf's most gifted rising stars."

Can't complain about that.

Paul Kincaid beats up "The Gist Hunter," in his review of Jonathan Strahan's BEST SHORT NOVELS 2006 on the SF Site. I guess you can't please everybody.

Don't worry Matthew. I liked it. That's all that matters to me. I even paid for it. Hopefully the autographed copy of Majestrum is in the mail now heading my way.
