Damn, sorry about the topic line...looks like I'm screaming WEEK THREE. You might want to take your little editing tool to that.:/

So did you finish your story with all those games going on? I don't know how you do that, man.

It's a novella. I'm going over it today. Looking to polish.

How do I do it? Because I must. :-)

I've gotten into this bad habit of going out to a local recreation area, which happens to have a terrific view, and sitting at a table abd writing free hand, then returning home and keying it all into the computer, revising as I go along. Whatever works, right?

I write free hand, then type it in as well, Darren. It's what works for me.

And you should be screaming WEEK THREE, looks like an awesome slate.

The biggest game of the weekend is, for my lights. LSU v Auburn. That could be the SEC, the NC, the whole magilla....

I can only write fragments by hand, sketch out scenes, and like that. My handwriting is unreadable, even for me. I guess in the 18th century I would have been a thief or a cutpurse. No writing for me.

And a drunken wastrel. Let's not forget the importance of 18th Century wastrelry. (No better way to spend the spoils, right?)

Quite a lovely slate of games this weekend. And the BADgers (tm) face their toughest test to date: SD State. Of course, it's like this schedule was orchestrated for the passing of the baton from one coach to the next. hmmm....

(And in our defense, in future seasons, we'll be playing AZ St and VA Tech in nonconference).

And most importantly, after seeing Tyler Donovan play, thank the lord we brought in Everidge for next year. that kid's gotta be thinking he's a genius for picking UW after seeing how bare the cupboard is behind Stocco.

Wastelry is something I don't need the 18th Cenury for. :-)

I knew there must be a reason to schedule Buffalo in mid-season. It's so Bulemia can have an off-week to pass that baton out of his intestinal tract.

I've contended for a long looong time that Donovan blows. He has all the athleticism in the world and just doesn't know how to use it. He just doesn't *get* it. Everidge will be the next starter and, if there is justice in the world (I know, there isn't), Sherer will be his backup.

You have to remember that with WI's schedule, two teams bailed out at the last minute and Alvarez was left scrambling to get replacements. Then the 12th game thing came down the pike and we had to schedule somebody, and Buffalo was the only team left. The old schedule, before people bailed, was a little tougher - I think Fresno State was on there, for instance, and one of the Michigan directional schools (Central, maybe). Question is, why did they all bail out? I think it has something to do with Alvarez leaving, but I'm not sure exactly what.

Minz, I think I'm going to cry. There was just a WSJ article that says that they dropped the Va Tech game until 2016. So our OOC next year is Akron, Marshal, Fresno State, and an undecided slot to fill for the VA Tech game. Wanne bet it's a creampuff?

Thanks a lot, Barry, you jerk.

I know, Lucius, but I really am peeved at Alvarez for being such a wussy. We dropped the Va Tech game, not them. Supposedly because we have such a "brutal" OOC schedule next year. Puh-leeze. Yeah, Akron, Marshal, and Fresno State are a notch up from this year's competition, to be sure, but what a freakin' wussy. If the BADgers ever want respect, they're going to have to have a really brutal schedule every few years. Pony up and deal with it, you know.

That said, next year's Big Ten schedule goes, I think - at MI, at OSU, PSU, at Iowa, then the rest. Though my memory could be faulty - haven't checked the '07 schedule in a while.

Still, the BADgers are going to be tough next year, really tough, I think. And why not play a respectable schedule when you've got the players to do it?

Alvarez is pissing me off. Or whomever is doing up the OOC schedules.

And Auburn has this way of surprising you. You think they should win, and bam, UW's manhandling them all over the field... :-)

I just read about the VT move during lunch. PUKE!. '07 does have the biggies, though MI is at home. Of course, it's BACK-TO-BACK with @OSU. Those last three games are going to be tough! Ouch.
2007 schedule:
Sept. 1 WASHINGTON STATE
Sept. 8 at UNLV
Sept. 15 THE CITADEL
Sept. 22 IOWA
Sept. 29 MICHIGAN STATE
Oct. 6 at Illinois
Oct. 13 at Penn State
Oct. 27 INDIANA
Nov. 3 at Ohio State
Nov. 10 MICHIGAN
Nov. 17 at Minnesota

Of course, I still think we could do some damage this year. Sep 23 is BIGBIGBIG. Hopefully the BADgers (tm) will make some strides this week, or it's going to be awfully ugly in the Big House.

And what happened to AZ St? (Oops, just checked, not until 2010 & 2012... Guess we had to push those back as well. "No Big Meanies" clause and all that)

Whoah - they shuffled the deck yet again. Washington State I can live with. UNLV - not so much. And The Citadel - Um, why?

Yeah, I don't know yet if I'm looking forward to the 23rd. I just hope that the wolverines put the hurt on the Golden Showers. If we somehow pull it off (and I'm not too confident of that), this could be a very good season. Hopefully Drew Tate will re-injure those abdominals again right before the UW game.

Louisville -4

The thing that I'm happiest about is Miami can start looking for a new coach NOW. ND could go 10-2 as well, but I think they could lose again next week. Brady Quinn, my ass. I don't like Okla very much, but there was some serious home cooking that cost them the game. Watching the SEC, knowing how those teams are going to chew each other up, whereas teams like WVA and SCAl et all are going to cakewalk through the season....the inequity makes me sick.

Go Blue!
