Just got word that my story, The Company He Keeps, has been accepted by Playboy, an event for which my creditors should be very grateful. I know I am. :-)

Most excellent! The only Playboys I have contain 'Pizza Man' and 'The Sparring Partner'. How lame is that :0)

Which month, Lucius?

I just got the word today, Bruce. I have to do a minor rewrite before I leave. So I have no idea. But I assume later this year. I'll let you know.

Thanks, Ben.

6k! Fucking hell! I was under the impression they stopped taking genre pieces ... is this one straight realism?

Yup. It's mainstream. It's a new order there. They may be open to genre stuff again.

Thanks, Darren. Actually they ended up paying 8 k for the story. I'm almost embarrassed.

I'm in Tegucigalpa, a filthy, sinister city, but with internet cafes. Doubt I'll be on the internet again for a few weeks.

Lucius: I've asked this before, but every so often I feel it's worth asking again: what books can we expect from you in the next year or so? Will Night Shade still be releasing Softspoken and Viator (redux)? How about the collection from PS? Thanks a lot.

NS will be releasing Softspoken in March, The PS collection will be out next spring, Christmas in Honduras will be out around Christmas. Things got pushed back a bit because of my vision difficulties, Viator redux will be a thunder's mouth press book.

Hi, Lucius. Were you ever able to get word from your insurance company regarding whether they'd cover your pre-existing vision condition after you'd been a policy holder for a year? Just wondering. Hope you're doing well, otherwise.
