I have a grandson. Two weeks old. Yesterday I saw him for the first time. Max. Today we looked at each other a lot. I realize babies don't see well, but then neither do I, so we stared blurrily at each other. His head turns to the sound of my voice. It's weird. I feel this palpable connection, a stronger, more particular connection than I felt with my son, whom I love a great deal. First I thought that was because it was making me feel old, but I don't feel any older than I did, really. I can't explain it. But when we stare at each other I have the feeling that we're confirming the details of a pact yet unspoken.

Anyway, if you want to gaze at the wonder that is Max, click on the url below.

Welcome to the world Max!

Undoubtedly, LS, vision impairment is heightening other senses.

If we concur this blur in time entwined, ensured a memory everlasting...

Hey, that's cool, Lucius -- congratulations to you and to the proud parents. When are you going to take Max to his first boxing match?

Gah. Stuffed. I appreciate the good wishes, Adam, Barth, Ellen, John. Paul, I think 5 years old is not too young. By then he should have mastered the left hook, thus making him the toughest little mother in kindergarten. T, the secret's out. Max was born with a tattooed palm, but I can't say what it is. :-)

Wow!! Cronk -- what a great middle name! Lucius, I am so thrilled for you and your family. After the bad, sad news I received yesterday, reading this is a fine corrective. I couldn't be happier for you. I know you'll be a wonderful grandpa and that the two of you will have loads of fun together in years to come. He's a great looking little kid. Maybe Max can get to meet Levi and Asher at a convention one of these years. Enjoy him!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

For those who wish to accessorize a newborn. I went for the spiral skulls.

Psychobabyonline is pretty cool, too.
