Utes-TCU...all of a sudden because of the Horned Frogs' win over Okla, this is an intriguing game.

Ala-SC is interesting too....

The UW/UNC game is going to be a grind. I hope the BADgers can keep running it down their throat. Nebraksa will die a pitiful death in the jaws of a panther. Florida pulls it off against TN. MSU kills the domeheads through the air. Miami/Clemson too close to call - I think it might go into overtime, or will be decided on turnovers. BYU gets a rest (before being trounced by TCU in week 4). BC beats Bowden in a close one. TX eats Rice.

Am I forgetting anyone?

Right--FSU has no quarterback. Boston College is tough. I think they can win. The main thing is whether *they* think they can win, though.

The way FSU has looked, they're a disgrace when they do win. For the good of college football, they should just lose gracefully rather than win in such a clusterfuck fashion.

Isn't Miami playing Clemson early?

My picks today, which means you should probably bet on whomever I don't pick.

- Florida over Tennessee
- FSU over Boston College
- Miami over Clemson
- Nebraska over Pitt
- South Carolina over Alabama
- Oklahoma over UCLA
- Notre Dame over Michigan State

For once, I'm picking based on my head not necessarily my heart. But I'm still probably completely wrong. LOL! I would love to see Nebraska, Notre Dame, and FSU lose.

okay, so Miami....on one defensive series the Canes were penalized five of six plays not for aggression, but for procedural violations. That's coaching. Stuff like that had stopped under davis, but it's been getting worse year after year. They had a ten point lead in the 4th and stopped putting pressure on the QB. That's coaching. Coker's horrible and getting horribler,

On the Florida side, I'm not convinced about the offense. I don't like it that Leak's not throwing the ball downfield as much. I don't like the running game.

Watch out for UCLA, Lucius - they're like the boogie man, all sneaky-up-on-you-and-scare-you. I'm telling you, dude. Be careful!

Glad that my BADgers pulled it out. That was a defensive battle all the way around. So much for UNCs vaunted receiving corps. We had freshmen out there laying chops on Baker all night long and he couldn't get the ball to his receivers.

Fullmer would look REALLY good in those monkey shorts, by the way.

I'm sorry, Jeff. I have no compassion for Fullmer. And there was a beautiful sight after the miami game. Bowden was crossing the field to shake with Coker, when he suddenly went to one knee. The state trooper gathered round him. He remained kneeling for a couple of minutes, then stood and stared off into the middle distance for about five minutes. Finally he gave this feeble wave in Coker's direction and wandered off to the dressing room. Myaaah ha haaa! A bowden and a fullmer bagged!

No, Lucius, this is the same oracular source that won both the football and basketball pool last year. :-) And, of course, I'll now dismally lose both because of my hubris.

And, yes, they are coming for you personally. Be careful whenever you cross a long stretch of grass . . . :-) Seriously, I don't know if they can take the Trojans or not. But they might somehow end up in a bowl game against a team you love, so be careful about underestimating them.

OU's offense is really, really bad. Even Peterson couldn't help them. I saw Bomar mishandle FOUR snaps. Gotta love it...

UT's new RB -- Jamaal Charles -- rushed for 189 yards and 3 TDs. Yeah, it was against Rice, but they took they guy out at halftime. He was our leading receiver against the Buckeyes and he picks up blitzes like an upper classman. So far, we aren't experiencing any dropoff from Cedric. This guy might be the real deal.

Yeah, but from what little I saw, Bomar's gonna be a player. Vince Young's first year, he was no prize package.

You didn't run the ball against OSU and Benson would have made some yards. Stats against Rice and the like....Come on. Charles may be the real deal, but the jury's still out.

Yeah, Charles' stats were against sacrificial lambs. But it's the little things you can see in his play. He has amazing patience for a young guy -- content to wait on the block and then take advantage of it. Plus, he had 69 receiving yards against Ohio State. Not shabby for a guy who didn't even start.

I don't want to sound like Mr. Sour Grapes or anything, but you have to admit...if Quinton Porter doesn't get hurt, that's a different game. The Eagles were handling FSU in the first half and winning the battles in the trenches. Funny, I was telling someone "the Eagles are one injury away from mediocrity..." Me and my big mouth. They are in deep doo doo if that kid Ryan has to step up. So this is going to be another Season of Losing Winnable Games. Great.

Oh, and congrats to Miami. It's not that you guys aren't strong; I think Clemson is just better than people thought. That's the difference between a big-time program and a not-big-time program. The Canes had a chance to fold and wouldn't.

Hmm. After reading about injuries, the UW/UM game is suddenly very interesting. Our D-line is riddled with injuries, and UM's O-line is pretty much demolished. Looks like Hart is likely out for the Wolverines. I was feeling pretty good about our chances, but then I heard that Cooper and Ware are out on our D-line. Then I heard that UM's O-line is also out a couple. Oh, and Massaquoiy (or however you spell it) is also out for the UW game. I see a low-scoring, very ugly game. I honestly have no idea who to pick.
