I see your agent has been earning his commissions! Very, very good. And cheers to all those lucky new readers in France, Germany, and Russia.

Thanks, Josh, Andy...

They didn't all happen this week--I just forget to post them. Some more stuff's happening, though, and I'll post that from the road, probably.

This is weird.

The cover of "A Handbook of American Prayer" was selected as one of
> the AIGA "50 Books, 50 Covers" annual competition award winners!!!
>
> The cover will appear in a public exhibition at the AIGA National
> Design Center (here in New York) in December, then travel around the
> country to various AIGA chapters and galleries throughout 2006, appear
> on display at the AIGA National Design Conference in Boston, and
> finally it will be published in AIGA's impeccably produced annual
> design tome "365, the Year in Design".
>

SInce I basically redesigned the cover of Prayer, over the objections of the art. dept, I'm taking credit here, if nowhere else.... :-)

But nonetheless, I think it's weird that AIGA recognizes this cover as opposed to John Picacio's great cover for Viator...

Anyway....

Oh yeah, Viator's one of your best covers I've seen. Picacio's doing some of the best covers in the small press. Maybe they overlook genre small press? I wouldn't be surprised.

Good thing is, you'll most likely get more creative control over your covers with that publisher now.

Lucius. Do you plan on putting your novella The Blackpool Acensions, which came out in an antho last year, in your next collection?

I'm curious about the story. I haven't heard anyone mention anything about it. The title conjures up a tale involving a dark mystical cult, or something.

Really? You don't think it's that good?

I may check out that antho anyway, as it probablt has some good stories, including ones from authors I haven't read. Don't know.
