Read an article about him in the Post recently. Apparently, the guy had an awful childhood, is an emotional wreck, guzzles dozens of pills a day for all kinds of ailments and only gets through the day with the help of liberal amounts of ganja, which he smokes religiously.

Add it all up and it spells "funny," eh?

My favorite line from that one,

"Call me when you don't have any class!"

:-)

You know, a good chunk of this minor classic was filmed at . . . the University of Wisconsin!!!

And the best line is:
"You look like the poster child for abortion."

(And I'm not just saying that because Rodney was ripping Downing who annoys me . . . he's a decent enough actor, but he annoys me. Great in Chaplin.)

Everything happens at Wisconsin. The original Animal House, this, party school champs...I;m beginning to detect an odor of BS :-)

"Come on over later, we'll work on my Longfellow!" :-) Ah, an American classic.

Is it true they film all these pix at UW because there are no actual "classes" to disrupt? :-)

Hey, UW has lots and lots of classes. And the vast majority of students do attend them. Klima can back me up on this. Right John?

"Fuck me? Hey Vonnegut, fuck you! Next time I'll get Ludlum to do it."

"Hey, Shakespeare for everyone! I'd like to tame your shrew."

Correction: I believe it's "poster child for birth control", not "abortion"

Oh, and let's not bother rehashing SI's proclamation from last September . . . oh what the heck, why not?

Ah, Minz, it just makes me tingle all over that I get to live in this town.

Wha? Miami not on the list? Wha?

And yes, most students do attend classes. Even the student-athletes attended, and did pretty well, at least when I was TAing.

And Lucius: "Everything happens at Wisconsin". Well, yeah, pretty much. Deborah can attest to the wonders of Madison. Come visit us, Lucius. Come join with us. All will be assimilated . . .

Ah, Madison, I've come to think of it as the Pittsburgh of the upper midwest...

Brats, an Elvis Impersonator, and as best I could tell, everyone reads and writes and watches football...I admit my native sample size was small, but the indices were quite strong...
