My next novel, ONE KING, ONE SOLDIER, is lined up for a July 24th on-sale date. Del Rey will be shipping me out to the San Diego Comic-Con for the occasion and I'm sure there will be a launch party etc. Then China Mieville (whose next novel IRON COUNCIL will appear the same day as mine) and I will be touring together for a little while. Looks like Seattle, Minneapolis, DC, and a couple of other cities TBD--in addition, of course, to the festivities in San Diego.
So mark your calendars...

You and Mieville travelling together? Sounds dangerous! When will you be in Seattle?

Hmm, I've never been to the Comic-Con. Looks like I now have a reason.
Unless, of course, you guys can find room for a Bay Area visit in your busy schedule.

Blunt, I have no dates yet except the weekend in San Diego. I'm guessing we go to Seattle next, but who knows. And Cheryl, I'd love to go to SF again, but I don't think it's on the agenda. I think other possibilities are up to whatever the sales force suggests...and I'm sure, given our relative fan bases, that China will be making lots of stops that I'm not.
Or everyone can just go to the ComicCon and we'll whoop it up there...

Sweet! I've been waiting for the Irvine/Mieville "Monsters of F&SF Tour" for ages. How much will the t-shirts cost?

I noticed Have Robot, Will Travel on Amazon.com. Is this by you, or another Alexander C. Irvine?

That's me. Strange experience, writing it. Kind of like rearranging someone else's furniture.

"Have Robot, Will Travel"
That title kills me, man.

It's been years since I read Asimov's Robot books. Does your book stand alone, or should I pull Asimov's books off the shelf once more before I read HRWT?

Alex is also reading at KGB Bar in NYC August 18th.

Eight months from now? I guess I have time to clear my calendar...

You won't need to reread your Asimov, Mastadge. Although if you're an Asimov fan, a visit to the Doctor's books might be a good idea anyway.
I'm doing the NYRSF reading in Feb. or March, forget which, and then as Ellen said KGB in August. More trips to NYC, fun fun fun!
