Thanks Ellen. I'm really looking forward to this, as The Dark is my favorite anthology of recent years. Is there a publication date yet?

Right, October 07. INFERNO is the first (and hopefully not only) non-theme horror antho I've ever edited. I hope everyone thinks it's got a good mix.
I'm line editing the stories one last time right now....got to figure out the order.

Nathan, I'm especially looking forward to your story since they happen so rarely.

I've handed it in to my editor today (well emailed it and the printout is being sent out from the Tor offices to him).
Hooray!! One deadline down...

Good on you.

Hey Rick, I just saw what you wrote. I'll ignore the subtle zing :-) and just say thanks. They're about to happen much more frequently.

I've just confirmed that INFERNO's official pub date is December (hopefully early December). I'm keeping fingers crossed that the book will be available for sale at WFC which is early November.

There will be full color reading copies sent out to reviewers about four-five months in advance. I've seen a rough of jacket art and I like it a lot. It's very red! Once I'm given the ok I'll post the art here. There was some tweaking to the type to be done.

I loved The Dark and I love the contents for Inferno -- can't wait to see the cover. My only disappointment: I was hoping to read this for Halloween.

Well it missed Halloween, but at least it missed the disco [inferno].

Maybe with it being close to the holidays it will be offered as a gift.

Great news that the pub date's been fixed, though, Ellen. Will contributors be among the lucky ones to be on the list to receive ARCs? Hint, hint, hint ...

Hi Paul,
I'm sure if there are extras but wouldn't you rather they go to reviewers? :-) seriously I'll ask but the book is big and that's a lot of arcs...

Guess I'll just have to be nice to the editor, then, in hopes that she lends me hers. Dunno I can face this ...

Oh, please don't worry about it. I'm always mildly curious about such things, but there's no need to humor me.

But if it's not too much trouble we want to know.

Was this the trio of terror's latest gig or was this a one-off?

Hmmmm? Who is the trio of terror?
It's an all original, non-theme anthology coming out from Tor in December. If it's successful, I hope they'll contract for me to edit a second volume.

Well maybe there are four faces on the cover instead of three.

Quad calamities?

I hope that you get another contract too.

I'll do what I can to make you rich :-)

As most of you already know, the book is out, looks great, and has received almost universally positive reviews. This makes me very happy (and hopefully makes the contributors joyous as well!)
