I admit it shamelessly: I was ego surfing. I found my name and a link to one of my stories on a website called Disaster Preparedness Kit.

Scroll about three-quarters of the way down the page and amidst all the links for guns, knives, tanks, and tactical gear you will find one that says: Survival Skills. By Nancy Jane Moore.

Now it is true, as the link shows, that the story begins with the sentence "Yeah, it's a great gun all right." However, unlike the rest of the links on that page -- apparently all of them found by a web robot -- the story isn't exactly about how guns can keep you safe. In fact, it's more about how guns can't keep you safe.

If you want to see what I mean, go here and read "Survival Skills."

I suppose I should ask the guy to take down the link, but hell, I think it's funny. Maybe someone will click on it looking for a hot action story and actually think about whether carrying a gun is the most effective form of self defense.

A girl can dream. Anyway, it is a hot action story. It's got a very spiffy fight scene.
