Below (in the form of a poem!) is the final short list of story titles for Nemonymous Five. From these I estimate will eventually be chosen ten to fifteen stories (depending on wordage).

If your story is not on this list, you should already have received a rejection from me. If not, please enquire to bfitzworth@yahoo.co.uk from your submission email address.

Just thought of an idea - I wonder if it is appropriate if I deplete the above short list gradually in public until the final selection is shown? (I fear this is going to be a slow process whatever method I choose - as ALL THESE STORIES ARE SO (EXPLETIVE) WONDERFUL! - and I am using a slow percolation process rather than snap judgements.)

PS: There is one further story to add to the short list which was inadvertently left off:
The Old man With Sneakers

Could you clarify something for me? I was under the impression that the names of the contributors to a particular volume are not unveiled until the publication of the following volume, remaining secret until then. Yet I see that the Wikipedia entry for Nemonymous reveals the names of the contributors to volume four, even though volume five is still being hashed out. I take it that a decision was made to release those names earlier for some reason?

Yes, Jules, every year, about midway between the two issues, I've regularly revealed the names on the membership-only Veils & Piques Yahoogroups announcement service in a ceremony that has become traditional. You have to experience it to appreciate it!
Someone must have added the names to the Wikipedia entry for Nemo~4.
I did not set up this Wikipedia entry myself, btw.

With 29 stories on the list, and 10-15 stories to be accepted, that seems to make the possiblity of making the final cut anywhere from 1 in 2 to 1 in 3, depending on the length of the individual stories.

Good odds!

I have now issued all rejections and acceptances.

If you receive a rejection, please do not yet tell me who you are, although very few rejectees do tell me in any event. This is in case any of the contracts issued are not agreed for whatever reason. It's just possible that I may ask if your story is still available should a contract fall down. When all is settled I shall quickly issue a list of the stories to be published.

There are one or two emails bouncing, including one acceptance! If you have neither an acceptance or rejection, please contact me urgently.

Thanks everyone.

I submitted most Nemonymously of all. I put my story on a far distant webpage without my name on it and through the power of my thoughts willed that you would go to the correct URL and read my story. It seems that this did not work.

I radiated back my rejection some weeks ago, Jeff. Did you not receive it? It wasn't quite what I was looking for.

Was *that* the headache I got? I'm sorry. I misunderstood. I had a headache and sense of profound, sincere regret. But I misinterpreted.

Since I won't be able to crow about my story in any other way but anonymously for a year, I might as well shout out here -- Sale!
