I was thinking -- with rare exceptions, all literature is anonymous. Most great literature is never published. Never had its author attached. Des

"And as we stand on the edge of darkness
Let our chant fill the void
That others may know
In the land of the night
The ship of the sun
Is drawn by
The grateful dead."
(Tibetan Book of the Dead (4000? BC)

Yes, that's so true... I can't help wondering if some of the greatest novels ever written (maybe THE greatest) might be lying forgotten in cabinets or behind sofas somewhere...

The fact that John Kennedy Toole's A CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES and Felipe Alfau's CHROMOS, two of my favourite novels ever, were both nearly lost to the world has made me convinced that, yes, the greatest works probably are still out there, unread, unknown, lonely...

Exactly.
Also those who receive public-ation are a very very small percentage of those who actually write creative stuff that is publishable but, for one reason or another, never reach that optimum crystallisation for their work. They remain the armies of the anonymous. I salute them. Des

Would you allow (enjoy? prefer?) your story(ies) to be published anonymously (i.e. without any by-line at all)?
Or not?
And why?

If the most common name that posts to message boards is 'Anonymous', why is there only one mag available to cater for writers with that name?
