Welcome to the message board of Jack Dann, one of our finest writers. The Memory Cathedral is a particular favorite of mine. And his short stories are always distinctive and unique. One of his latest books, Jubilee, collects most of his best short fiction. He has also been active in editing, including editing a collection of Avram Davidson stories (which makes him a hero in my eyes). He will also be teaching at Clarion South.
For more information on his work, please visit:
I'll be curious to hear about new projects he's working on.

Thanks for your good words. It's good to have a pal. Not knowing what I was doing, I went off and started another string, which was probably a mistake. Sigh. So much for the guy who had a topic on GEnie for years!
I threw in my 'vanilla' bio for any masochistic readers out there. <grin>

Uh oh, now I don't know where to post. Maybe both places?
Anyway, I just want to welcome you, Mr. Dann. I've enjoyed your stories and your editorship. The Wandering Stars anthologies are among my favorite of all time. Avram Davidson and Bernard Malamud in the same book! Woody Allen and Harlan Ellison! Good stuff.

Hey, Jack: Hope you are doing well down under and all over.

Was good meeting you at World Fantasy, and having you crash my lunch with Mr. Shepard.

Thanks for coming in, everyone. Mike, I think we should move to the other string; that will keep everything, er, sort of, consistent. <grin>
Thanks for your good words on my work and editing. I get a kick out of doing anthologies...makes me feel as if I'm writing when I'm not.
Hey, Jeff, been a while, man. All's well all over and under.
Robert, I hope I didn't screw up your lunch with Lucius.

No screw up. It was fun. And I got to hear Janeen talk about the wombat problem.

Ah, yes, that wombat problem!

This is just to say hello and to apologize for not responding to a message or two that you left at my own message board. I'm just getting used to these things, and I've been teaching a poetry-writing class at LaGrange College that has kept me awfully busy. In any event, I'm glad to have had a chance to read your resume, and I hope that one of these days we have a chance -- again -- to lift a cool one together. All the very best, Mike
