Broadly, this is a place to talk about things worth reading, and it's also where I'll probably do most of my pimping for projects I'm involved in.

To start: Yesterday I got my contributor copies for The Urban Bizarre, an anthology of urban stories (there's SF, smut, and just plain unclassifiable fiction herein). It's not a ToC of the usual suspects, which is nice. Nick Mamatas edited it, and he brought in literary people, zinesters, erotica writers, and some SF people. The result is eclectic, weird, dirty, and fascinating. It's available at Amazon now:

The paperback is in stock:

The hardcover is not presently in stock, but shipping is free since it's over $25:

Or get it directly from the publisher:

My contribution, co-written with my favorite co-conspirator Heather Shaw, is a bizarre piece of SF surrealism with erotic elements, a strange cityscape, diesel-powered scooters, and a man named Blue Chuck.

If you're in the mood for free quick reads, go over to The Fortean Bureau for their "Forty Beers" issue, featuring brief (on the order of 50 - 100 words each) fictionlike things by me, Greg van Eekhout, Nick Mamatas, Rudi Dornemann, Jay Lake , Jeremy Tolbert, Pam McNew, Hannah Wolf Bowen, Celia Marsh, and K. Tempest Bradford. This issue brings together Forteana and beer, an, ahem, intoxicating combination.
