Archetypes in Fantasy: The Evil Stepmother
Monday, 10:00-11:15 a.m. in Wisconsin

Fairy tales have long relied on the symbolic dichotomy of a good but absent or magical mother and a bad, present and mundane mother. Does this continue to be reflected in modern fairy tales and fantasy, or has the evil stepmother been vanquished, or even better, embraced and redirected?
Catherynne M Valente, M: Heidi Anne Heiner, Merrie Haskell

The SignOut
Monday, 11:30am-12:45pm in Capitol Room

I'll have copies of The Labyrinth and Oracles with me for sale and signing. Until Wisconsin!
