Just back from the AAs here in Brisbane. They have become a really classy event. As Dirk Strasser, the originator of the awards said tonight, they have gone from being held, in their first year, in a bookshop that was above an adult shop in Melbourne to a theatre in the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in their tenth year.

Here's the winners in the science fiction, fantasy and horror categories. Full details are available at: http://www.aurealisawards.com/

Science Fiction

Trent Jamieson - "Slow and Ache"

Novel

K A Bedford - "Eclipse"

Rosaleen Love - "Once Giants Roamed the Earth"

Great to see Trent and Lee take out awards this year, ahead of their forthcoming collections from Prime Books.

Hiya, Ellen

Try the link above. The Aurealis Awards are now independent of the magazine and have their own site, which is part of the Fantastic QLD site.

The Aurealis site has historical information on the awards but then links to the above site for more recent years. No doubt though they will eventually put it in their news section.
