Today I turned in the final edits of the manuscript (minus one more original story on which I am still working) to Sean Wallace at Prime.

Need to get cracking on completing that one story....

*cracks whip at self*

Ok, AWW. That hurt!

Auto-flagellation sucks.

Today, another update on the novella, directly from Peter Crowther.

He says: "we're aiming to have it out later this month or early next . . . certainly in time for the British Fantasy Convention."

No, you don't hear me drumming my fingers. *grin* Now, what's that weird phenomenon that causes the waiting for events to be less and less endurable, the closer you get to them?

In the correct topic, this time -- I have come up with a replacement story for inclusion into SALT OF THE AIR.

This one will be from the middle portion of the upcoming book GODS OF THE COMPASS ROSE, and is about the God of Love.

Meanwhile, "Three Names of the Hidden God" (the opening story for the new Compass Rose book, a story halfway written and a bit stalled) will have to wait until I have a better grip on it.

Updated the webpage for the collection:

Also, looks like Prime now has the book listing:

Last night I finally turned in the final story for the collection, "The Story of Love."

This story was very difficult to write for a number of reasons, but I think it turned out well, and I am proud of it.

It is in the Compass Rose milieu (yep, finally, a new Compass Rose story!) and deals with the God of Love, and is eventually going to be a part of the future book GODS OF THE COMPASS ROSE.

Now, because it took me so long to get the collection stories in, the release date for SALT OF THE AIR is being moved up to November 2005.

Totally my fault.

In any case, will keep everyone posted.

So, um -- Prime Books has had this book listed for a while now, but it's not available to preorder from any bookstores I can find, not Clarkesworld or Amazon or any local stores. :-(

Yup, it's been... delayed.

*sigh*

The date of October that is on the Prime website is wrong. Recently I was given November as the date, but I have a sinking suspicion that won't happen either.

There has been another delay with the artist's image being lost or something.

Truly, I no longer know.

Sean Wallace might be the one to ask.

Sean?
