That funky title was *supposed* to say:

"I am now a Fulltime Writer"

Typo Queen strikes again....

Mazel tov, Vera. And you did it the _right_ way, too.

(my patented "How not to be an idiot about going full-time" speech has been known to reduce would-bes to trembling piles of spreadsheets and debt reduction forms)

Thanks, Paul and Laura Anne!

Laura Anne,

As far as the "right" vs "wrong" way to go fulltime, it's exactly as you say -- scary to imagine attempting it with a pile of debts on one's shoulders and anything less than at least a year's income stored away.... *shudder*

And Paul, I think I just got damn lucky. :-) My advice -- invest in real estate in a rising market. *grin* It's still a huge miracle that I qualified at all, three years ago, for that home loan.

As I say, a miracle!

Congratulations! It really is inspiring to find someone who actually planned and worked her butt off to do what she wants. Good luck!

Um, I'd thought I'd posted a comment, but I don't see it, so I'm trying again:

Congratulations! It's very inspiring to see someone who's planned and worked her butt off (and taken advantage of positive circumstances; after all, opportunity may knock, but you still have to recognize it and open the door) to do what she wants.

Good luck!

:-)

And apparently I performed the appropriate ritual to have my original message (okay, so I elaborated in the redux) appear as if by magic.

*scratches head confusedly*
