Go PITT! Hey Deb, your team is rocking! Coming out to Rutgers (my Master's alma mater) later this week (the same night as a VanderMeer reading)!

Hey, JK, they are looking pretty good.

Too bad you have to miss Jeff's reading, huh? You *do* have your tickets, right?

:-)

Watch out, the BADgers are hot on your heels and . . . oh, right, you already beat us. :-(

Glad to see that we lost to a powerhouse, though.

Does take the sting away, dunnit? :-)

The thing is...I thought this would be another rebuilding year, or at least, a barely-make-the-tourney-out-in-the-first-round year.

But, Aaron Gray has had double-doubles in nearly half the games...Krauser is all grown up now and making good decisions instead of forcing things. He's also lost about twenty pounds. The whole team is in better condition than I've seen in years. They play 9-10 guys every game. Free throw shooting could be better, but they're hitting them in the clutch anyway.

It's hard not to start believing.

I can live with the Pitt loss, clearly a tough, tough squad. And, luckily, they're not in the Big Ten.

And speaking of rebuilding, I still can't get over the Badgers start. We lost 4 of our starters. We still don't have enough depth at guard, so we gotta pray for a good bracket come tourney time. And that would include not having the face Pitt until final four...

Still a lot of ball left to play, but it's nice to be looking down at the rest of your conference, eh?

Two very similar teams...again. We're getting more out of our freshmen than anyone expected at this point. The style of play is similar, too. They both kill opponents on the glass, both play very physical defense. Seems like they both have a little trouble defending the three, but they make up for it on the boards. Tucker really impressed me with his toughness, too, especially in that early game against Wake.

But, you're right...let's not meet again until the Finals, eh?

:-)

Well, I guess if you kind find some SEC officials that'll let the Gators get farther than Kentucky...

Yr point is well-took, albeit a tad acerbic....:-) Nonetheless, have you seen them play? They're pretty good.

Tickets...? Um...right...I have my tickets. :-) BTW, if you see any photos of me standing next to VanderMeer on Ellen Datlow's website, they're photos of my...uh...brother. :-)

I have not yet seen the Gators, but I will check them out some time.

And, JK, I knew your priorities were in the right place. I'm sure Jeff will understand.

Whew! That was a great game. I am tired from yelling so much.

OK, I was at the reading. Although I have a master's from Rutgers, it's just not the same. I can't root for them or against them. I'm sort of ambivalent to the whole thing. Glad to see Pitt still rocking the unbeaten world.

Reading was fun. Jeff took about 100 of his closest friends to dinner afterwards.

It was pretty good...they read from their new novel and then gave everyone these smoking bunnies...wait...that's not quite right, is it?

LET'S GO WARRIORS!!!

What do you mean, Golden Eagles--they'll always be the Warriors, thanks to Al McGuire. Here's hoping it's seashells and balloons for the Warriors this weekend against those vaunted Pitt Panthers...

Well, based upon fan response on NSB, I guess Marquette's gonna kick Pitt's butt on the hoops court today...if only it were that simple.

Minz, Minz, Minz...I thought it was the Marquette Frozen Lake Perch.

I was at RadCon out in Pasco, Washington and missed the game. At least a bunch of other top-fifteeners lost, too.

I see the Badgers are sneaking back up to the top of the BT.
