Well, here's a unique opportunity for all your book-buyers out there...

Buy any book (or books) from the Wheatland Press website any time between now and when Pitt loses its first game (that's it's first college football game for you non sports fans out there) and I will refund the shipping and handling charges on your order.

For those of you who want to do some mild handicapping of the possible duration of this offer, you can find one season preview here:

http://www.collegefootballnews.com/big_east/Pittsburgh.htm

The longer Pitt keeps winning, the happier I am and the more you save!

One condition: This offer is valid only for orders shipped to countries where they play college football.

:-)

For orders that ship to countries where they play some mutant sports, I'll refund half the shipping charges.

Well, I was gonna make it last until somebody from either the ACC or the SEC-East got arrested, but before I was done typing the message the offer had expired...

:-)

You know, Josh, if that happens...I will gladly pay all the shipping it takes!

Which reminds me...at the Austin airport on my way back from A-Con, I stopped in a gift shop to find something for my son. They had a TV in one part of the store playing the Rose Bowl. From the display around it, it was clear it would keep repeating all day. I asked the cashier if she ever got tired of that game and she gave me a big ol' smile and said "Never. Nobody around here ever gets tired of seeing that one!"

:-)

Just goes to show, the avg IQ in Texas is lower than the price of gas.

Hey, gas is pretty damn expensive!

Deb - my dad burned a copy to DVD in realtime last Jan. Yet I'm still tempted to buy the "authorized" DVD. Believe me, I could watch it all day too. Young played like a freak of nature in that game.

Heh...that's great. I recorded the Fiesta Bowl, but I've been good so I haven't had to watch it again.

Hey, none of that over here! Arguing about last year's bowls goes on Somebody Else's spot.

This thread is all about cheerfully pimping my books, ya hear?

You and me, both, Forrest.

Good thing you didn't make it "Free shipping until Notre Dame is not over-rated". You'd be heading to the poor house.

Seriously. I keep reading these pundits who want to be all excited about Weis and the Great ND Turnaround, then they start looking at the schedule and it's, Hey! Could be...er...um...well...maybe seven wins...er...um...and some podunk bowl...but it's a Turnaround!

Some moronic pundit listed ND vs. Washington as one of the top 15 games to watch this season. *Yawn*.

But poor Ty Willingham with his sorryass squad will be looking to bite the kneecaps off those mean little leprechauns. Peeee-UKE. (That was SI, by the way. Though Banks over at SI went off on fantasy football, so I'm feelin' much more forgivin' toward them at the moment.)

I bet that guy thinks they need to start serving boiled okra at the concession stands, too.
