The Wheatland Press/Polyphony 4 Party at WorldCon will be Friday 5-7 in the sff.net suite.

As soon as I have the room number I will post it here.

Hope to see all of y'all there!

Great! And don't worry, Jeff. It'll be tame. I talked Jay out of doing The Dance of the Seven Hawaiian Shirts.

Is there a phone in the suite? Probably. Maybe I'll call and say something witty since I can't be there.

Yikes! All the parties are Friday night. Haven't heard of any on other nights.

Ellen, it's probably because they moved the Hugos to Saturday instead of Sunday so nobody wants to have a party on Saturday.

Robert, I'll try to get that phone number for you.

Lucius, weren't you once Robert's teacher or something?

Oh, I probably had one, but it escapes me right now what it was...some kind of joke about how Robert got witty from having a funny teacher would be my best guess.

I feel witty,
I feel witty,
It's quite shitty
How witty I feel,
And so [ fill in with appropriate rhyme ]
That I've started calling turquoise teal.

Tatta tatta tatta dum dum dee!

Having had both Michael and Lucius as teachers it's no wonder that I exude wit and many other colors.

Now that I know you exude colors, Robert, I'm rather relieved I'm not sharing a room with you at WorldCon...

Unless I'm agitated, I exude on the most comforting of colors. I've never had complaints from anyone sharing a room.

Now that I know about this exuding I'm even more disappointed that you won't make the (grainy black and white) Poly 4 party.

I won't be there either Deb, but maybe we can meet up somewhere along the line for that scotch you offered me.

Thanks to everyone who came to the WP party at WorldCon! It was fun to see all of y'all!

Congrats, again and again, to Jay Lake and Frank Wu on their Awards.

I got stuck in Atlanta on my way back Monday night thanks to Frances. But, really, it wasn't so bad. Delta Airlines gave me a discount coupon to the Bates Motel where the power only went off once during the night and the airport shuttle bus driver the next morning eventually did find both the AirConditioner switch and the airport.

Hi Deborah --

I didn't make it to the WP party, but it was good to see you briefly at that Hugo reception thing before the award ceremony. I did pick up a copy of Polyphony 4 in the dealer's room though, and Jay annointed me with his Campbell Award plaque as he and his entourage strolled into the bar later that evening. Oh and I said hi to Frank and he gave me some postcards with his art on them. So I did manage to get quite a bit of Wheatland exposure even though I missed your shindig.

Deborah! A pleasure to finally meet. And we all know, the truth of that is purely relative. But a good con, all told, despite that Lake fellah.

JJA -- I somehow missed your message here. It was good to talk to you at the reception and I'm gald to hear you got a healthy dose of WP! And, you look terrific, by the way.

J -- Enjoyed meeting you, too. It was a good con. Do let me know what happens with that piece we were talking about. I hope to read the whole thing someday.

I had a very good time at the Polyphony party at WorldCon--Deborah was passing out absinthe served in human skulls. *Very* cool...

*That* was Deborah? I knew she was a bit kooky when I met her. She had that look about her.

And why the hell didn't I get any absinthe? I was always missing the *good* parties . . . Even when I'm there, I miss them.

Scott, at least I didn't offer anything from my own skull (there wasn't much in there anyway).

JJA, that's right, and you don't have to be modest here!
