Deborah -

Yay and woohoo! Count me in for a copy when I get to Washington. The collection is swell, and "Major Spacer" is amongst Howard's best recent work.

Will do, Jonathan, and I owe you a P3, as well, alas. I got so far behind schedule...

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Deborah---

Today I did laundry at the laundromat, and would you believe the one person in the place who brought reading material was reading Howard's book? Honest.

Gordon, you must live in a pretty nice neighborhood. :-)

Thanks for sharing that -- it made my day.

Deb---

Yeah, it's a real fancy laundromat. Limos are routinely parked outside of it.

But seriously, I spoke with the woman reading Howard's book and it turns out she works at one of the chain bookstores around here (Borders or B&N---I didn't catch which one). She's also a big fan of Small Beer Press books and loves Ellen Datlow anthologies.

It was a nice change encountering an SF reader at the laundromat. I think I I was more surprised to see Howard's book than I would have been to see Dick Cheney campaigning for votes in the laundromat.

The one by the Rite Aid on 13th. Maybe we should see if we can get Howard Waldrop to stop by the laundromat for a signing.

Sometime during the rinse cycle is probably best.
