Hi, Richard, only just spotted this really interesting interview. When I read 'Carbon' and 'Angels'; I never realised it was because of your EFL job (like mine): "You find yourself having to be pleasant and supportive to people who all too often you'd really rather strangle with their own guts." To think Kovacs arose from your NOT 'unravellng' some student who probably thought you loved him...
Do you realise you might do for EFL what Hemingway did for bull-fighting?
