While everyone is reading issue #8 (you have a copy, right? What?!? you don't? Go to http://www.electricvelocipede.com/shopping.html and order one!) and I'm editing and finalizing issue #9, I have a thing or two to say about the future. As issue #10 approaches--an impressive milestone to hit in the world of zines--I want to do something special for it. I'm already working on the content. I have a bunch of novelettes that will appear in the issue. One from Rick Bowes & Mark Rich that is excellent, another from Jeffrey Ford (actually a suite of shorter related pieces), and one from Robert Freeman Wexler, the talented author of the wonderful IN SPRINGDALE TOWN and CIRCUS OF THE GRAND DESIGN. What else could I do that would be special? A color cover? Guest editorial? Guest columnist (from a fairly well-known source)? Any ideas? Maybe an interview would be good? Interviews are always a great source of interest. Sounds like you've got lots of ideas as it is, though! And there are some great writers involved there. |

Whatever you do, figure it out quick, before the time slips away. That's what happened with us for the upcoming tenth anniversary issue of TALEBONES. |
