We are now taking pre-orders on Argosy No. 2 (March/April). I'm happy to announce that this second issue is roughly 28 pages longer than the premiere issue and features a full-color interior as well as a fold-out cover by the brilliant Gregory Manchess on the main magazine.
Contributors to the second issue include:
O'Neil De Noux - "Cruelty the Human Heart"
Carol Emshwiller - "My General"
Jeff Vandermeer - "How Benjobi Song Came to Rule Iphagenia"
Mike Resnick - "El Presidente"
Mike Baron - "Dead Meat"
Martin Meyers - "Mr. Quincy's Different Drummer"
Plus Eric Spitznagel interviews controversial author Neal Pollack
Along with nonfiction from Kevin J. Anderson
Furthermore, we will proudly present an all-new novella by the dynamic duo of Charles Stross & Cory Doctorow - "The Rapture of the Nerds: Jury Duty and Appeals Court", with cover and interior illustrations by the incomparable John Picacio!!

Hi Lou -- should subscribers have already gotten Issue 2 of ARGOSY? I haven't gotten mine yet.

nope. We're still waiting for ours back from our printer. Expecting them any day now.
I'll post an announcement when they are in our hands and about to ship!
We're very eager to see them too!

Excellent -- thanks for the update! I saw the review for #3 in this month's LOCUS and thought I'd missed #2 entirely!

No no, you saw the review of # 2.
I haven't sent them anything on # 3 yet,
which is completed, but a ways off!

I was wondering how they were able to review #3 so quickly...

# 2, Mike.
They haven't seen anything on # 3 yet.
And won't till we're a lot closer to it.
Though working this far ahead has its drawbacks.
I'm really REALLY excited by issue three and want the world to catch up!

Um, I bought a one year subscription, but have not yet received issue #2. Have you not sent them out yet?

Just received our shipment of the slipcased edition yesterday. I've read about half of mine so far and continue to be impressed. Keep up the good work!

Hi Lou. Are copies of #2 still making their way to subscribers? Just wondering, since mine hasn't gotten to me yet. Thanks for your help.

Hi Mahesh, they are indeed. Yours should be on the way, but feel free to drop the office an email at email@example.com if you haven't gotten yours shortly!

Do you have any idea if review copies of #2 have gone out yet? Should I contact the office to check?
|Posted on Thursday, July 08, 2004 - 08:06 pm: |
They asked me for the current comp list last weekend, so I'm assuming they should be out or going out soon. However, I recommend contacting the office if you don't see anything in the next week.

Just checked, Ellen - yours went out a couple of days ago. Sorry for the delays. Can't wait to hear your reactions to it, both contentwise and presentationwise. (I already know Irene Gallo is going to go nuts - full color AND a gatefold cover. Can't say we're not going for a definite identity, here.)

Great James. Very much looking forward to it!
