I recall reading a story, probably in the late 60's to early 70' in which humans were abducted by a spaceship and subjected to odd treatment that one, a psychologist, recognized as the Lashley jump stand. He attempted to communicate sentience by behaving the opposite of expected, with disasterous results. Can anyone help with a title, author or other lead ?
